Ecohouse have recently commissioned a 3.29kW solar photovoltaic system on the express orders of their customer Dr Newman.

The system was designed around an existing solar thermal system and the solar photovoltaic panels were split over two roof elevations to generate maximum power.

To compensate for the different roof elevations and for shading to the side elevation the Sharp 235W solar panels were split via three inverters to generate maximum power and efficiency.

The installation was carried out over three days and the project has proved very fruitful so far for the proud new owner who kindly writes

“Solar PV is going great guns in this perfect weather for electricity generation. So far in just six weeks we have generated 708 KWh, over a quarter of the predicted annual total. On our best day so far we made 22 KWh.. I am  registered with Eon, no problem.”

Dr Newman affectionately refers to his installation as the ‘Hinkley Roof Point Power Station’ and is also delighted at the environmental implications on his system and the 2,113 kg of CO2 emissions that he is saving for the planet.

Dr Newman found the process of registering the system straightforward and offers the following advice.

“After registering with Eon, their notes tell me I have to send in my generation meter readings to them every three months and they make payments straight into my bank account. If I forget to send a reading within seven days either side of the dates they will give me to make my return, the payment simply gets rolled over to that due three months later. Tell future customers of yours to contact their energy supplier for the relevant information pack and registration form to claim their FITs”.

Dr Newman was very complimentary and pleased with our service and has kindly offered his assistance if any potential customers would like to view his system or chat with him personally by prior arrangement through Ecohouse in the meantime he has requested that we publish the following comment

“I am happy to show off my new power station and put in a good word for Ecohouse. Not only was the work done well, but the entire team completing the installation were great, treating me like a friend. Frank your roofer is a huge asset and it was really good of him to come back on the Sunday and do the extra work on our corner tiles to which we thank him”.

Ecohouse look forward to on-going updates from the “Hinkley Roof Point Power Station” and on Doctor’s orders offer a free advice service for any potential customers who are thinking of investing in Solar, including system size, installation and potential system tariff generation.
